Regular Season Round 7: JX-Eneos S. - Hitachi Cougars 91-45

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-3) in Kashiwa 91-45. The game without a history. JX-Eneos S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 4 points in first quarter. JX-Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 24. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 54-29 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. International forward Mikoto Onuma (174-93) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Guard Yagi Kasumi (163-92) produced 11 points and guard Aya Tsurumi (164-92) added 5 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Toyota A. Hitachi Cougars lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K. and Haneda Vickies. JX-Eneos S. will again meet Hitachi Cougars (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hitachi Cougars will have a break next round.
