Regular Season Round 9: Kagawa FA - Shimane SM 58-89

B League D2 top team - Shimane Magic (8-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Kagawa FA (1-9) in Takamatsu 89-58. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-58. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 32. It was a good game for American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Point guard Rintaro Tokunaga (177-86) answered with 11 points and forward Shinobu Kon (190-87) added 12 points in the effort for Kagawa FA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic maintains first place with 8-2 record. Kagawa FA lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
