Very expected game in Barcelona where 14th ranked Barca II (1-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Leyma Basquet (4-1) 84-69 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Leyma Basquet forced 20 Barca II turnovers. Point guard Joan Creus (185-92) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Dominican swingman Dagoberto Pena (198-88, college: Marshall, agency: Duran International) chipped in 15 points. Five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Sergi Martinez (201-99) responded with 9 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Lithuania point guard Arnas Velicka (192-99) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to second place, which they share with Breogan and Gipuzkoa GBC. Loser Barca II keeps the fourteenth position with four games lost. Leyma Basquet will face Ourense (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
