Everything could happen in Parana at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked La Union and 9th ranked Echague had identical 3-6 record. But Echague was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Formosa 76-75 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 21-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American-Jamaica center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) stepped up and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Facundo Pinero (200-88) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Sebastian Uranga (200-89) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Matias Nocedal (192-90) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Echague's coach Ricardo Daniel Maffei tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. La Union maintains seventh place in Norte with 4-6 record. Echague lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. La Union will face Libertad Sunchales (#10) at home in the next round. Echague will play against the league's leader Quimsa where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
