Rather predictable result in Renova where second ranked Dragonflies (8-2) defeated 5th ranked Kagoshima (1-9) 86-76 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 51-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dragonflies forced 20 Kagoshima turnovers. American power forward Cameron Ridley (206-93, college: Texas) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) scored 16 points. Kagoshima's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragonflies have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Kagoshima lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost. Dragonflies will face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Kagoshima will play on the road against Kagawa FA in Takamatsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
