Terpsithea used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Thessaloniki 60-51 on Sunday night. Terpsithea outrebounded PAOK 45-33 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. PAOK was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Caila Desroches (193-88, college: Chicago St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import point guard Samaria Howard (170-94, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Terpsithea players scored in double figures. Guard Afedoula Magaliou (168-79) replied with 22 points and the former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for PAOK. Terpsithea will face Panathlitikos in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. PAOK will play at home against Proteas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
