Regular Season Round 10: Yokohama BC - Niigata Albirex 78-96

The game in Yokohama was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (5-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Yokohama BC (3-7). Niigata Albirex did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 96-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Yokohama BC was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Niigata Albirex especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The other American import Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) chipped in 27 points and 7 rebounds. American-Bulgaria center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Niigata Albirex have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Sendai 89ers and Chiba Jets. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Toyama Grouses (#6) at home in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
