Regular Season Round 8: Haneda Vickies - Fujitsu RW 58-76

There was no surprise in Tokyo where 7th ranked Haneda Vickies (2-4) were defeated by fifth ranked Fujitsu RW (4-2) 76-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Haneda Vickies was better in fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) produced 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Rina Sezaki (162-92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chanson V-M and Toyota B SR. Haneda Vickies lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Fujitsu RW will face Niigata R. (#11) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Haneda Vickies will play at home against the league's leader JX-Eneos S. and hope to win that game.
