Regular Season Round 10: Fukushima - Aomori Watts 82-74

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Aomori Watts (4-6) were defeated on the road by second ranked Fukushima (6-4) 82-74 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fukushima made 7 blocks. Point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) scored 15 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Fukushima maintains second position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Hiroshima D., which they share with Yamagata. Aomori Watts lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with six games lost. Fukushima will face league's leader Gunma at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aomori Watts will play against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
