Regular Season Round 7: Panteras - Caballos 98-31

LPB top team - Panteras (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Caballos (0-7) 98-31. The game without a history. Panteras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caballos to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Caballos' 24. Panteras forced 21 Caballos turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Caballos' players. It was a quality performance for swingman Shayra Brown (175-92, college: Boston Coll.) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Yeritza Duque accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Diana Martinez came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Mercedes Pedreschi added 2 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Caballos in the defeat. Panteras have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Caballos still closes the standings with seven games lost. Panteras will play against Aguilas (#4) in the next round. Caballos will play against Toros and hope to get finally their first victory.
