Regular Season Round 10: SeaHorses - Kyoto Hannar. 80-49

Date: October 23, 2016
There was no surprise in Kariya where 5th ranked Kyoto Hannar. (3-7) was crushed by second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (7-3) 80-49 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Kyoto Hannar. was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 37-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-3 record behind leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Sanen. Kyoto Hannar. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's leader Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play on the road against Osaka Evessa (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
