Regular Season Round 10: San-en - Hitachi SR 76-79

Important game to mention about took place in Hamamatsu. Third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (6-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging their biggest opponent Sanen Neophoenix (7-3) 79-76 on Sunday evening. Sanen Neophoenix was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 26-15 third quarter run of Hitachi Sunrockers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. The former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Shuto Tawatari (185-90) added 17 points in the effort for Sanen Neophoenix. Five Sanen Neophoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 6-4 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Sanen Neophoenix at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with SeaHorses. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Yokohama BC (#5) at home in the next round. Sanen Neophoenix will play against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
