Regular Season Round 4: DCU Mercy - NUIG Mystics 78-51

The game in Dublin supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked NUIG Mystics (2-3) played at the court of sixth ranked DCU Mercy (2-1). DCU Mercy smashed NUIG Mystics 78-51 on Sunday. DCU Mercy dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to NUIG Mystics' 30. DCU Mercy forced 29 NUIG Mystics turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by NUIG Mystics' players. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Sarah Fairbanks (185, college: St.Joseph's) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Jasmine Wooton (173-93, college: Portland) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. DCU Mercy's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Ebony Wells (188, college: La Salle) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and forward Hannah Coen (175-87, college: Adelphi) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for NUIG Mystics. DCU Mercy moved-up to third place, which they share with Killester and Liffey Celtics. Newly promoted NUIG Mystics dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. DCU Mercy will face again NUIG Mystics (#6) in Galway in the next round.
