Regular Season Round 3: Marghera - Alpo VF 67-58

Rather expected game in Venezia where Alpo VF (1-2) was defeated by Marghera (3-0) 67-58 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 26-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Marghera outrebounded Alpo VF 46-28 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Federica Iannucci (175-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Erika Striulli (170-90) helped adding 21 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Roberta Di Gregorio (172-90) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marghera will face Viterbo (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alpo VF will play against Fanola SML and hope to win that game.
