Regular Season Round 6: Houthalen - Liege 55-52

Houthalen's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Liege (3-3) 55-52 on Sunday. Houthalen forced 19 Liege turnovers. It was a good game for the former international center Jaleesa Maes (188-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Annelies Blommaers (176-83) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Laura Henket (184-98, agency: LBM Management) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Natacha Doppee (168-93, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points in the effort for Liege. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Houthalen (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Deerlijk. Liege at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Houthalen is looking forward to face higher ranked Declercq Stortbeton (#3) in Waregem in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Liege will play at home against Jeugd Gentson and is hoping to win this game.
