Regular Season Round 6: Samorin - UKF Nitra 69-38

There was no surprise when 7th ranked UKF Nitra (1-4) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Samorin (4-2) 69-38 on Tuesday. Samorin held UKF Nitra to an opponent 18.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Samorin forced 23 UKF Nitra turnovers and had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian point guard Mirjana Beronja (170-86) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Samorin's coach Tomas Kacmarik felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Nikola Kovacikova (175-99) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Laura Dubenova (189-95) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Samorin maintains fourth position with 4-2 record. Newly promoted UKF Nitra keeps the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Cassovia K.. Samorin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UKF Nitra will play against BAM Poprad (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
