Regular Season Round 3: Ironi K-A - Hapoel B/S 74-76

A very interesting game took place in Kiryat Ata. It ended with only two-point home defeat of Ironi Kiryat Ata (0-3) to Hapoel B/S (2-1) 76-74 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It looked good early as Ironi Kiryat Ata took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel B/S took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. It was a good game for American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Noam Matalon (197-87) added 18 points in the effort for Ironi Kiryat Ata. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel B/S's next round opponent will be Hap.Haifa (#5). Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Galil Elion (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
