Regular Season Round 6: WKK Wroclaw - Slask Wroclaw 38-76

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Wroclaw: Slask (#2) and WKK Wroclaw (#7). WKK Wroclaw was smashed at home by 38 points 38-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of WKK Wroclaw. Slask held WKK Wroclaw to an opponent 18.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded WKK Wroclaw 50-29 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Slask made 7 blocks. Point guard Jakub Musial (186-98) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Wojciech Jakubiak (180-96) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Slask players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Tomasz Jozefiak (188-93) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Michal Jodlowski (206-98) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slask (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group D with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row having just one point less than leader AZS PGd. Loser WKK Wroclaw keeps the seventh place with three games lost. Slask will face league's leader Gornik in Walbrzych in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
