The game in Kouvot was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Catz Lappeenranta (3-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Kouvottaret (4-2). Kouvottaret managed to secure a 4-point victory 68-64. It looked good early as Catz Lappeenranta took a 14-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kouvottaret took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. Kouvottaret outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 48-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Khadijah Sessions (173-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Merit Management Group) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The other American import forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Merit Management Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kouvottaret's coach Mika Hartonen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Chandrea Jones (177-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Russia forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Kouvottaret moved-up to third place, which they share with FoA. Defending champion Catz Lappeenranta dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Kouvottaret's next round opponent will be league's leader HyPo in Hyvinkaa and it will be for sure the game of the week. Catz Lappeenranta will play at home against Peli-Karhut (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
