Regular Season Round 6: AZS PGd - Trefl II Sopot 76-62

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked AZS PGd as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. AZS PGd defeated 10th ranked Trefl II Sopot in Gdansk 76-62. They outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 53-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Daniel Szlapka (188-92) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. AZS PGd's coach Marek Iglinski used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Damian Ciesielski (187-97) with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Ignacy Grochowski (202-98) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Trefl II Sopot at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Suchy Las. Trefl II Sopot will play next round against Asseco II trying to get back on the winning streak. AZS PGd will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Pelplin in Pelpin.
