Regular Season Round 6: Nitra - Inter Bratislava 74-101
Date: October 26, 2016
Bottom-ranked Nitra (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-74 loss to second ranked Inter Bratislava (5-1) in Nitra on Wednesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Inter Bratislava shot 67.9 percent from the field and made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: BeoBasket) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Serbian Nemanja Barac (194-90, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) added 22 points respectively. Nitra's coach Peter Seman gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Inter Bratislava have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Levice. Nitra at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Nova Ves. Inter Bratislava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play on the road against Kosice (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
