Regular Season Round 5: ToPo - Porvoon Tarmo 114-72

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ToPo as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. ToPo smashed 8th ranked Porvoon Tarmo in Helsinki 114-72. The game without a history. ToPo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Porvoon Tarmo turnovers and outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 44-27 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. ToPo players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Porvoon Tarmo's players. Guard Emil Djeen (183-94, college: High School) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Juuso Kauppinen (188-94) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five ToPo players scored in double figures. ToPo's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward B.J. Cardarelli (203, college: S.New Hampshire, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Cameron Clark (190-93, college: Southwestern, KS) added 26 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Porvoon Tarmo. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Porvoon Tarmo at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Porvoon Tarmo will play next round against Pyrinto II trying to get back on the winning streak. ToPo will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Oulun NMKY at home.
