Regular Season Round 4: Grindavik - Thor AK 85-97

Thor AK's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Grindavik (2-2) on the road game in Grindavik 97-85 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 53-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Thor AK had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Danero Thomas (196-86, college: Murray St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and the former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Grindavik. Five Thor AK and four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Thor AK (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Grindavik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Keflavik and IR. Thor AK is looking forward to face Haukar (#8) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. Grindavik will play on the road against IR in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
