Rather predictable result in Caceres where sixth ranked Al-Qazeres (4-3) outscored 10th ranked Mann Filter (2-5) 82-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Al-Qazeres. Mann Filter managed to win fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al-Qazeres had a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Croatia-Italian center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 30 points. Al-Qazeres' coach Jacinto Carbajal felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-94, college: S.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and international center Lucila Pascua (196-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 10 points. Al-Qazeres moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bembibre. Loser Mann Filter keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Al-Qazeres will meet higher ranked Perfumerias Avenida (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mann Filter will play against Araski (#4) and hope to secure a win.
