Very expected game when 16th ranked Orchesien BC (2-6) lost on the road to ninth ranked Caen (5-3) 73-69 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 37-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Lithuania forward Zygimantas Jonusas (200-82) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) replied with 22 points and 6 assists and Montenegrin power forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Orchesien BC. Caen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Orchesien BC lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. Caen will face Lorient (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orchesien BC will play against UB Chartres and hope to win that game.
