Preliminary Round Round 5: Fukuoka Rizing - Tokyo HT 92-58

An interesting game for Fukuoka Rizing (9-1) which hosted in Fukuoka second-ranked Tokyo HT (8-2). First ranked Fukuoka Rizing had an easy win 92-58. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Fukuoka Rizing shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up and scored 31 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winners and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. American forward Brian Harper (204-85, college: Paine, agency: HMS) responded with 14 points and the other American import power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukuoka Rizing have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Tokyo HT at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Saitama Broncos (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tokyo HT will play against Tokyo Cinq R. (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
