Regular Season Round 4: Dandenong - Bendigo 85-94

The game between Top Four teams took place in Dandenong. One of their biggest challengers host Dandenong Rangers (4-2) lost to first ranked Bendigo Spirit (4-2) 94-85. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dandenong Rangers won third quarter 21-19. The winners were led by Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93) supported her with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Even 24 points and 5 assists by guard Stephanie Cumming (178-90) did not help to save the game for Dandenong Rangers. Forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) added 17 points and 5 assists for lost side. Five Bendigo Spirit and four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Bendigo Spirit maintains first position with 4-2 record, which they share with Dandenong and Perth. Bendigo Spirit will play against Canberra Capitals (#4) at home in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against Canberra Capitals and hope to get back on the winning track.
