Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Stal II Ostrow (6-1) won against on the road 8th ranked Miedzychod (2-4) 61-56 on Saturday. Miedzychod was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of Stal II Ostrow, which allowed them to win the game. Center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) fired 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Krzysztof Spala (190-93) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Stal II Ostrow players scored in double figures. Center Lukasz Kwiatkowski (207-79) produced 8 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Jaroslaw Kalinowski (180-79) added 4 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Miedzychod's coach Marcin Chodkiewicz let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Stal II Ostrow moved-up to second place in Group D, which they share with Gornik Walbrzych. Loser Miedzychod keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Stal II Ostrow will face Rawia (#9) in Rawicz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miedzychod will play on the road against Katy Wroclawskie and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
