Regular Season Round 9: Aishin AW - Mitsubishi K. 60-78

Bottom-ranked Aishin Wings is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to seventh ranked Mitsubishi K. (4-3) 78-60 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi K.. Aishin Wings was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. International center Risa Nishioka (184-97) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Kyoko Hamaguchi (181-90) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Wings. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mitsubishi K.. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Toyota B SR. Aishin Wings lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Mitsubishi K. will have a break next round. Aishin Wings will play again at home against Mitsubishi K. (#6) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
