Not a big story in a game in Hiroshima where 4th placed Orange Vikings (4-7) were outplayed by first ranked Dragonflies (9-2) 105-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragonflies. Orange Vikings was better in third quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dragonflies had a 41-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Australia-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American power forward Cameron Ridley (206-93, college: Texas) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Dragonflies. They maintain first place with 9-2 record, which they share with Gunma and Kumamoto V. Orange Vikings lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Dragonflies will face again Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round.
