Regular Season Round 6: Burgos - TAKE Tolosa 71-45

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked TAKE Tolosa (0-4) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Burgos (2-2) 71-45 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Burgos. TAKE Tolosa was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TAKE Tolosa to just 7 points in first quarter. Burgos shot 28 for 38 from the free-throw line, while TAKE Tolosa only scored three points from the stripe. Burgos had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. TAKE Tolosa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Jalen Jaspers (190-92, college: Mary) who scored 13 points. Forward Alvaro Gomez (192-84) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jon Azaldegi (190-91) who recorded 10 points and forward Benat Azaldegi (196-94) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to eighth place in Group A-A, which they share with Santurtzi. Loser TAKE Tolosa still closes the standings with four games lost. Burgos will face Venta de Banos (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TAKE Tolosa will play against Pielagos and hopes to get finally their first victory.
