Very important is a road loss of third ranked Faros (3-1) against ninth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (2-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Faros was defeated by Amyntas Dafnis in Athens 81-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Faros. The winners were led by forward Panag Koukounias (199-88) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Amyntas Dafnis players scored in double figures. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 7 assists by point guard Fotis Vasilopoulos (187-86) did not help to save the game for Faros. Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-81) added 15 points and 4 assists for lost side. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aiolos Astakou. Loser Faros dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Doukas and Ethnikos. Amyntas Dafnis will meet bottom-ranked Kavala (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Faros will play against Holargos (#13) and hope to secure a win.
