Regular Season Round 9: Haneda Vickies - JX-Eneos S. 42-90

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Haneda Vickies (2-6) in Tokyo 90-42. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Haneda Vickies managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Haneda Vickies to just 2 points in third quarter. JX-Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Haneda Vickies' 26. JX-Eneos S. forced 22 Haneda Vickies turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. JX-Eneos S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). International forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) answered with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Rina Sezaki (162-92) added 9 points in the effort for Haneda Vickies. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Haneda Vickies lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
