Regular Season Round 7: BC Nokia - Kouvot 75-60

Date: October 29, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked BC Nokia and 8th ranked Kouvot had identical 2-3 record. This time BC Nokia used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kouvola 75-60. Kouvot was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 26-8 charge of BC Nokia, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 25 Kouvot turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Kouvot helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Senegalese forward Papa Dia (208-87, college: SMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side. American forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Ville Kaunisto (204-82, agency: Court Side) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Kouvot in the defeat. Kouvot's coach Antti Hurri rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for BC Nokia. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kauhajoki. Defending champion Kouvot keeps the eighth position with four games lost. BC Nokia's next round opponent will be UU-Korihait (#9) in Uusikaupunki which should be theoretically an easy game. Kouvot will play at home against Kauhajoen Karhu and hope to win that game.
