Regular Season Round 11: Toshiba BT - San-en 84-66

Date: October 29, 2016
Fourth defeat of Sanen Neophoenix (8-4) against second ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-3) 84-66 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Sanen Neophoenix managed to win fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Ryan Spangler (203-91, college: Oklahoma) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Nigeria-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Sanen Neophoenix. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders keep a position of league leader. Sanen Neophoenix at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tochigi Brex. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
