Regular Season Round 11: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo Z 91-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. First ranked Toyotsu FE faced 3rd placed Tokyo Z. Host Toyotsu FE (10-1) smashed guests from Tokyo (4-7) 91-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo Z. The game without a history. Toyotsu FE led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 36. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) who scored 29 points. Nigeria center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Katsushi Irabu (183-91) produced 17 points and American forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) added 16 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Toyotsu FE. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the third position with seven games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Tokyo Z (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
