Extraliga top team - Piestanske C. (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Slovan (2-5) in Piestany 107-44. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Slovan's 8 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Piestanske C. forced 25 Slovan turnovers and outrebounded them 41-17 including a 25-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Slovan's players. It was a great evening for American center Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) who led her team to a victory scoring 32 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international Sabina Oroszova (190-93, college: E.Illinois) helped adding 13 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Five Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Marta Vargova (180-83) responded with 24 points and Simona Marcova (184-94) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Piestanske C. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Slovan at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Piestanske C. will play against Cassovia K. (#8) in Kosice in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slovan will play at home against MBK Ruzomberok and hopes to get back on the winning track.
