Regular Season Round 11: Cyberdyne IR - Yamagata 83-75
Date: October 29, 2016
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Yamagata (6-5) against fourth ranked Cyberdyne IR (6-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Yamagata was defeated by Cyberdyne IR in a tough game in Tsukuba 75-83. It looked good early as Yamagata took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cyberdyne IR had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Yamagata was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-83. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Maeda Yosuke (188-89) contributed with 7 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St.) added 12 points in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cyberdyne IR moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukushima and Yamagata. Cyberdyne IR will again play against Yamagata (#4) at home in the next round. Yamagata will have a break next round.
