Regular Season Round 6: Villarrobledo - Torrelodones 76-48

There was an upset when higher ranked Torrelodones (2-3) was rolled over on the road by fourteenth ranked Villarrobledo (2-4) 76-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Villarrobledo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Torrelodones' 32. They outrebounded Torrelodones 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Artur Alaminos (205-91) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Villarrobledo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alejandro Herreros (189-96) who recorded 9 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Elijah Hayes (182-93, college: Flagler) added 7 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Villarrobledo moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Lanzarote. Loser Torrelodones dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Villarrobledo will face Estudiantes B (#14) in Madrid in the next round.
