Regular Season Round 5: Roannais - Aulnoye 54-55

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Roannais (2-3) was edged at home by tenth ranked Aulnoye (2-3) 55-54 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Roannais won fourth quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aulnoye forced 25 Roannais turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Maud Medenou (189-90) chipped in 14 points. Naturalized Angola power forward Whitney Miguel (185-91) produced 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Laetitia Guapo (180-95) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Roannais' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aulnoye moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Arras and Roannais. Aulnoye will face higher ranked COB Calais (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
