Regular Season Round 5: Siena Virtus - Bottegone 74-70

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Bottegone (0-5) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Siena Virtus (2-3) 74-70 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Point guard Simone Lenardon (189-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 assists. Guard Ferdinando Nasello (194-95) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Siena Virtus players scored in double figures. Siena Virtus' coach Francesco Braccagni allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Daniele Toscano (196-93, agency: Players Group) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bottegone. Siena Virtus moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Bottegone still closes the standings with five games lost. Siena Virtus will face higher ranked Sangiorgese (#7) in San Giorgio in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
