Regular Season Round 5: Arantia - Basket Esch 52-79

Bottom-ranked Arantia is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Basket Esch (2-3) 79-52. Basket Esch dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Arantia's 22. Basket Esch forced 25 Arantia turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Arantia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Hungarian swingman Momcilo Latinovic (198-89, college: N.Mexico Highlands, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) chipped in 16 points and 5 steals. American swingman Corday Sims (196-91, college: Peru St.) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Sam Ferreira (200-89) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Basket Esch moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Residence and T71. Arantia at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Basket Esch's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Bascharage (#10) in Kaerjeng. Arantia will play on the road against T71 in Dudelange and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
