Regular Season Round 5: Alcazar - Gandia 67-58

Very expected game when 13th ranked Gandia (1-4) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Alcazar (3-2) 67-58. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gandia won third quarter 11-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Alcazar won last quarter 26-18. American forward Tyrone Nared (203-88, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 7 points and 14 rebounds. American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190-93, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: Mass.-Lowell) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Tomasevic (201-92) added 16 points in the effort for Gandia. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alcazar moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Zornotza. Gandia lost third consecutive game. Gandia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Alcazar will play against CB Tarragona 2017 (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gandia will play against Blancos de Rueda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
