Regular Season Round 5: JyWe - Raholan Pyrkiva 52-77

There was no surprise in Jyvaskyla where 7th ranked JyWe (1-3) was crushed by leader Raholan Pyrkiva (4-0) 77-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Raholan Pyrkiva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Raholan Pyrkiva outrebounded JyWe 39-28 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Lauri Tiainen (193-90) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Tommi Rasi (184-98) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Aleksi Kantonen (188-95) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Raholan Pyrkiva maintains second place in Division with 4-0 record behind leader PuHu Juniorit. Newly promoted JyWe dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Raholan Pyrkiva will face PeU-Basket (#8) in Pernio in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. JyWe will play on the road against Ura Basket in Kaarina and hope to win that game.
