We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Roma Vis Nova (1-3) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Roma S.Azzurra (2-3) 73-63 on Saturday. Roma S.Azzurra made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Roma Vis Nova was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian Lazar Nikolic (203-99, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Federico Pierantoni contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Point guard Tommaso Rossetti (185-88) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Giulio Casale (187-91) added 13 points in the effort for Roma Vis Nova. Four Roma Vis Nova players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Roma S.Azzurra moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Roma Vis Nova dropped to the fourteenth position with three games lost. Roma S.Azzurra will face Catanzaro (#9) on the road in the next round. Roma Vis Nova will play against Cassino (#6) and hope to win that game.
