Rather expected game when 5th ranked Ventspils Augstskola (1-3) was defeated at home by top-ranked Limbazi (5-0) 88-82 on Saturday. Ventspils Augstskola was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 24-15 charge of Limbazi, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Armands Osins (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Rolands Brencs (198-86) who added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Belarusian power forward Denis Vikentsyeu (203-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Belarusian guard Vlad Mikulskiy (192-98) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Limbazi and four Ventspils Augstskola players scored in double figures. Limbazi have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kekava. Loser Ventspils Augstskola keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Limbazi will face Jelgava (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ventspils Augstskola will play against the league's leader Kekava and hope to win that game.
