Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Saint Vallier (5-3) and SAP Vaucluse (4-4), which took place in Sorgues. Higher ranked Saint Vallier lost to tenth ranked SAP Vaucluse in a road game 79-85 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Vallier. Saint Vallier was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of SAP Vaucluse, which allowed them to win the game. Lithuania forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. American point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) replied with 25 points and his fellow American import power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Saint Vallier. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to ninth place, which they share with ALS Basket and Rennes. Loser Saint Vallier dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. SAP Vaucluse will face Union Rennes (#9) on the road in the next round. Saint Vallier will play against Lourdes-Tarbes (#14) and hope to win that game.
