Regular Season Round 6: Oviedo - Forca Lleida 88-84

The biggest surprise took place in Oviedo where host Oviedo CB (4-2) beat league's leader Lleida Basquet (5-1) 88-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lleida Basquet. Lleida Basquet was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Lleida Basquet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) who scored 19 points. Forward Daniel Perez (200-69) chipped in 7 points and 11 assists. Four Oviedo CB players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenia point guard Luka Rupnik (185-93) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Lleida Basquet's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Oviedo CB moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Breogan and Palencia. Lleida Basquet at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Coruna who have the same record. Lleida Basquet will play next round against CB Prat trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Oviedo CB will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo.
