Regular Season Round 9: Osorno - Puente Alto 76-66

Very expected game when 9th ranked Puente Alto (2-7) was defeated on the road by second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (7-4) 76-66 on Saturday. Osorno Basquetbol outrebounded Puente Alto 46-30 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. International forward Juan Fontena (196-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and American center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international forward Antonio Pinedo (195-94) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Marcus Hammonds (196-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) scored 5 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osorno Basquetbol maintains second place with 7-4 record having just three points less than leader Los Leones. Puente Alto lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Osorno Basquetbol will face Tinguiririca S.F. (#10) in San Fernando in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Puente Alto will play on the road against Las Animas in Valdivia and hope to win that game.
