Regular Season Round 7: Wisla Krakow - AZS KU PO 64-49

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Wisla Krakow (1-6) beat at home 3rd placed AZS KU PO (4-2) 64-49 on Saturday. Wisla Krakow forced 21 AZS KU PO turnovers. Power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Forward Wojciech Gorgon (194-89) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Wisla Krakow's coach Piotr Piecuch used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Bartosz Koszela (201-89) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Wisla Krakow left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group C, which they share with Zaglebie. Newly promoted AZS KU PO keeps the third position with two games lost. Wisla Krakow will face higher ranked MKS DG 2 (#10) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS KU PO will play on the road against the league's leader AZS PK (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
